Unable to add cities - 401 Unauthorized from API

When I try to edit the settings it won't let me save without a city selected, but the process of selecting a city is broken, even after changing the OpenWeatherMap API key.

To reproduce:

• Right click on icon in status bar->settings
• Paste in my api key to the API key field at the bottom
• Click on the wrench icon next to the city drop down list
• Click on "Add..."
• In search box, enter a city name (e.g. San Francisco) or a lat/long pair

Response is

Error: 401 Unauthorized
Try again later

(Tried over a dozen times spanning 2 days, same response)

resolved by upgrading to latest version (3.3) from default ubuntu22.04 version (2.1)
