Black LightDM after set-nvidia.sh

Hi,

When on Intel Only, LightDM is working well. As soon as I do sudo set-nvidia.sh; reboot, my lightdm is black and I have to enter my password with a black screen to see my desktop. Do you know how can I fix it?

hi, this most commonly happens when /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf gets edited incorrectly. it's a very easy mistake to make. when you edited lightdm.conf , there is a sample [Seat:] section and theres the actual [Seat:] section further down. the first one should not be edited, the one further down should be edited/uncommented. for example

if lightdm.conf doesnt point to the correct display-setup-script, the needed xrandr commands wont be run when lightdm is starting and will leave you with a black screen. if this however looks fine, post the outputs of these commands to a pastebin service and link it here.

optimus switch configuration files are named 99-nvidia.conf or 99-intel.conf depending on which mode your using. if you find any other gpu/video related .conf files in any of these directories, move/delete them or they will interfere.
