Encountered an error setting target position - socket fails to connect to server #1

Hi there!

Installed and configured the plugin but receive the following error in the logs when attempting to open the blind:

[2018-3-6 20:24:02] [Somfy myLink] Setting position of target XXXXXXXX.1 (Awning) from 0% to 100%.
[2018-3-6 20:24:05] [Somfy myLink] Encountered an error setting target position of target XXXXXXXX.1 (Awning): socket fails to connect to server after 3000 milliseconds

Note XXXXXXXX is my Hardware ID which I found in the info section of the myLink app (iOS), I was not able to follow the instructions documented here (extract below):

Setup

You will need to use the Somfy myLink mobile app in order to configure your System ID, to obtain your Somfy myLink's IP address, and to obtain the Target IDs for each remotely controlled device.

Go to "Integration" and set a System ID by tapping "Change System ID" (which can be any string). Tap "Get Integration report" to view the System ID, IP address, and Target IDs.

Bump, any thoughts on this?

There does not appear to be an "integration" section in the myLink app...

@fserruto this was happening to me and then I realized my IP address changed. Check the integration report and make sure the IP address matches your Homebridge config.

I'm quite sure my IP is correct. What are you referring to when you say 'integration report'?

Also, what are you using for SystemID?

@fserruto all settings you need for the homebridge config is located in the Somfy app. I'm on iOS, so not sure if it differs on Android.

Menu > Integration > Get Integration Report

That’s strange, my App has no Integration option in the menu. I’m on iOS, using the myLink app, version 2.37.

I'm showing v5.6 and it looks a bit different. Possible there is a more recent app on the app store, or maybe its some US centric thing.

Thanks, it's a different app! Not available in the AU store so had to switch to the US store, but also apparently "not compatible" with my Somfy.

@fab301s which somfy do you have? probably works with the tahoma homebridge then the somfy mylink works with homebridge-mylink the somfy connexoon, tahoma, and others work with homebridge-tahoma

I have Somfy myLink, but the app does not have an Integration section with the configuration info...

@fab301s get the american mylink app -- open menu on the top left - there should be integration - under that RTI - under that get integration report

or is the entire integration menu missing?

get a somfy connexoon --- works with all somfy motors can take ~30 shades AND only requires app password and user for homebridge - no complicated setup for each shade....

@fab301s and ofcourse make sure all your apps and firmware are upgraded

My myLink does not seem to be compatible with the US version of the app...tried a while back

I am not familiar with the differences between what Somfy products are available in AU vs. US, but I do know that Somfy had previously released two versions of the myLink product.

Maybe this is the problem? If not... consider consulting with your nearest Somfy dealer. (Unfortunately, I am not an authorized agent or expert for Somfy products.)
