[BUG] Install script doesn't install shell theme #14

Open nyadiia opened 1 year ago

nyadiia commented 1 year ago

Describe the bug The installer script does not appear to build and install the gnome-shell theme.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Run the installer script with any options
  2. Go to gnome tweaks under Appearance > Shell
  3. The theme does not appear.

Expected behavior The theme should appear in the shell directory.

Screenshots/Log log.txt, installed to user directory because there's another bug where the installer won't ask for sudo privileges unless using verbose

Additional context I am running arch with gnome 45, all packages on latest

I believe this issue started once I updated to Gnome 45 on Arch Linux. This still installs fine on distros that use Gnome 43-44, like PopOS.

We'd have to wait for it to be updated to use it on more up to date distros.

Until then you can use WhiteSur-gtk-theme to get a similar look. You'd just have to tweak the install options, and make sure to also enable the fix for libadwaita, otherwise it won't apply to GTK4 apps like Gnome Settings, File Explorer, Console, etc.
