Kernel version/name mismatch #1

Are you sure this is a 3.18 kernel? The Makefile says Shuffling Zombie Juror, which has been used for pre-3.18 kernels[0]. Also, the diff from the stable 3.18.41 kernel is overwhelmingly large, with changes to the MAINTAINERS file, obsolete ABI documentation and everything.

To me this looks like (and this is a guess), that large portions have been copied from another kernel version, maybe between 3.14 and 3.16? Or a newer one that had support for a required component?

Can you say anything about that?

Also, a commit history in general would be very helpful :)

I think I was a little too quick. I should’ve been looking at the kernel tree for Mediatek chipsets for Android[0], and not for the vanilla kernel of course. Sorry about that.
