Please at least update the documentation to say that. The embedded version seems to work just fine.

Do you have any error message or details on what didn't work?

Urm, sorry but this was reported back in 2016! I don't remember what, if any, errors were reported. I just remember looking for a tool to support some complex web scraping from some Indian public data and not being able to run this on windows.
