XML view of status Web Script has syntax error #123

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Hit the XML version of the status Web Script 
(/bulk/import/filesystem/status.xml)

What is the expected output?
XML output showing the current status of the import tool.

What do you see instead?
A Freemarker exception.
