My guess would be that your GPU driver doesn't have proper OpenGL support - try updating it.

If that doesn't help, please attach your dhewm3log.txt to a post here, you can find that file in Documents/My Games/dhewm3/
Well the cutscene doesn't freeze anymore, but the cutscene and game is still choppy as hell. dhewm3log.txt
Thanks! You could try disabling soft particles (in the F10 menu). If that alone doesn't help, make sure that Antialiasing is disabled and maybe reduce the graphics quality preset to High or Medium.
The In the Intro cutscene, the framerate is choppy, then when Campbell and Swan leave the shuttle then there's a popping sound andf the cutscene freezes while the cutscene sound continues.
I can send you my pc specs if the issue is on my end.
