Updates to PharmacotherapyDB? #2

I am currently in the process of writing auto-update scripts for hetionet (now known as SPOKE), and I was curious whether you are planning to come out with updates to PharmacotherapyDB in the future.

Hey @krishbharat96, I don't have any plans to update PharmacotherapyDB. I believe all of the resources we integrated indications from are static, however some other resources have also come out recently.

The physician curation was the most time consuming part (and unfortunately cannot be automated). I'm not sure if you care about the distinction between disease-modifying and symptomatic treatments. I think its useful, although the curation was difficult.

One project I'm currently involved with is greenelab/snorkeling. Here we're trying to use Hetionet v1.0 relationships to train an NLP model to extract more relationships from the literature. Eventually this approach may be able to read the literature and extract potential indications. However, these indications are unlikely to have the same quality as PharmacotherapyDB which attempted to include only high precision databases and had the physician curation step.
