As you may or may not know there are two "variants" of the GPL 3.0 licence: GPL-3.0-only and GPL-3.0-or-later (SPDX identifiers). The difference between those is that, as the name implies, the former only licences this repository under the GPL 3.0 licence, whereas the latter licences it under the GPL 3.0 licence and any later GPL licences the Free Software Foundation might release. My understanding is that the "default" variant is GPL-3.0-or-later, but I'm not entirely certain of this and I think it still is better to be clear about this.
