High Contrast rendering page fields incorrectly upon hover over #101

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enable High Contrast extension.
2. Load a web page with input fields, for example
https://myaccount.allstate.com/anon/login/login.aspx - it does not happen on
all web pages, but many. Oh! It even happens on this very own bug report page -
https://code.google.com/p/google-axs-chrome/issues/entry - see screenshots
below.
3. Hover the mouse over the User Id or Password fields on Allstate, or even the
"Remember My User ID" checkbox, or on the Google page - the Choose File button
or the Search dropdown.
4. The fields begin to render incorrectly, with garbage over the field so you
can't read what you type, or inverted background color, or a smearing of nearby
page elements.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Instead of seeing the text field rendered correctly, it is rendered incorrectly
and makes it impossible to see what you are typing.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Chrome v26.0.1410.64 m
High Contrast v0.5
Windows XP SP3

Please provide any additional information below.
This worked all fine until about a month or two ago. Then something must have
auto-updated on my machine, either Chrome or High Contrast Extensions, and this
behavior started. The only thing that stops it is Disabling High Contrast
temporarily. Turning High Contrast off doesn't work, only disabling it.

Seconded. Elements on Facebook.com shift slightly to the right under High
Contrast, making it necessary to click to their left to "hit" them.
