Minor updates #53

A few minor changes to the main three pages.

earth image on front page is less deep
added button to 'Join the conversation' linking to 'Getting started' tutorial
fixed a few links and spacing
minor changes and updates to text

@Flaburgan I remember you saying you wanted the earth image on the front page to be smaller. I've reduced the depth of the image in this PR. Hope it looks better to you.
