one way to look at effect of predation pressure would be to look at small omnivores (i.e. OX's). munger and brown 1981 note that there was no increase in small ominvores on exclosure plots --> take it that there isn't a direct predator release effect on small rodents in general on those plots.

but, it's leaky. who's to say that ots are as edible as pps?
