This is a really nice resource! Thanks @dmgt
I'm a fan of suggesting the GitHub desktop client as another option for getting the files onto a local machine for editing and then syncing back to a fork (with the thinking to make lesson contributions easier for folks without substantial experience with git and the shell).
I wrote up some notes for when I ran the UF Bug BBQ: http://pad.software-carpentry.org/2018-04-13-Bug-BBQ
Thanks @raynamharris! @dtwrub and I made that guide with @daisieh through the Carpentries mentoring program. Happy for it to be forked elsewhere when there's a more useful place for it
Summary: If helpful for attendees new to using pull requests with GitHub, I could run a short tutorial or a coworking table to practice making edits to Carpentry materials using PRs from either the command line or GUI based on these instructions developed for the recent Bug BBQ. It'd also be great to improve the instructions themselves (PRs welcome)
