[x] add plass_assemble to travis
[x] double check salmon function
[x] check time /cpu requirements for pear/paladin

PEAR is failing on travis (working on my machine). Perhaps a linux issue? Will file an issue and track down, but leaving out of travis for now. Tests passing - ready for review and merge @ctb!
