I'm not really sure. It's possible the extra GTX 480's might end up being slightly better in this project since they are more consumer-grade and might be more optimized for running game software such as Unity. On the other hand, I don't know how optimized Unity is for using lots of GPU's(especially when doing all the nontypical stuff that we're doing), so we might want to stick with fewer more powerful cards.
@jazzguitarist I guess we could test this shortly once we have the environment running.
Also we have 4 NVIDIA Tesla k40c's which could potentially be used in other nodes for training agents. There are also a lot of GTX 480's lying around which are definitely much lower spec, but do you think that 4 GTX 480's would do about the same for us as say of the 2 Tesla's? I imagine no, but looking for an extra opinion since I'm not too familiar with how much speed Unity can gain from their differences.
