For 2D you need to calibrate the results using a 2D calibration file or perform a 2D calibration. There is a button on the main DICe interface page to do this. For stereo the model displacements will be in whatever units you used to do the stereo calibration, no extra step needed.

For 2D or stereo? If you watch the stereo video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FGbIwk3fcU you should have a pretty good idea. For 2D you just have one camera's images. The video is for an old version of DICe, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure it out.
