Background Story

Trying to find qualitative studies in SE fields, I went through all the accepted papers in ICSE 2016, 2017.

• Only find a few of them are qualitative ones that has the possibility to apply MOSSS or Crowdsourcing.
• After looking into the selected papers, I realize....

Problems of Finding Studies with Qualitative Method

• Hard to find through titles and abstracts.
• Need to go into content, which search engine won't look.
• After finding the paper, it's still hard for MT workers to do most of them because the expertises and experiences needed.

Questions raised during this procedure.

• Q1: Could I use MT to find, classify studies with different methods?
• Q2 Will it be meaningful/interesing to summarized the trends of different METHODS used in top conferences?
• Q3 After trends, could we compare the citation and influence of qual. vs quan. methods.
