airmon-ng is not useable. airmon-ng check kill = no effect.
Than I use:
ifconfig wlan0 down
iwconfig wlan0 mode monitor
ifconfig wlan0 up
airodump-ng wlan0 -c 36 ; still fixed channel 1; found only 2.4 ghz wlan networks
airodump-ng wlan0 --band a ; no 5 GHz networks found, but is it still on channel 36, found only 2.4 ghz wlan networks
And the "best" is, it aborts every time airodump-ng wlan network scan after 4,x minutes.
Massage: "socket(PF_PACKET) failed: Too many open files
Can't reopen wlan0"
energy saving mode on the stick is disabled
Edit:
iwconfig wlan0 channel 36; it found the 5 ghz wlan ac network on channel 36 with airodump-ng
But it shows also the 2.4 ghz wlans on channel 1 - 11. It's very strange because the channel should be fixed to 36.
It aborts also after 4,x minutes with:
socket(PF_PACKET) failed: Too many open files
Can't reopen wlan0
Will check it, but i have a question. do you get good results on the 2.4 ghz regarding the signal? I use the same one but i have very poor signal reception.
