Highlight color #3

Thanks for the extension! It has made using Hypothesis much easier. I was wondering if different colors can be assigned to highlights. Currently, there's only one color. Could there be an option of 2 or 3 additional colors? It will help with the visual classification of highlights.

Hi, Shailen! I'm happy you are enjoying the extension. I like your suggestion. In fact, I have long thought of adding a filtering system such that one can define a series of rules -based on annotation tags, creator, etc- and apply different styles to them. For example, "make annotations with the label 'hypothesis' red", or "make annotations created by 'me' blue", or "hide annotations made by 'johndoe'", etc. Unfortunately, I have been very busy lately and I haven't been able to work on this or any of my other ideas. In fact, maybe you have noticed I haven't even been able to keep up with newer Hypothesis versions. Right now I'm just making sure the add-on continues to work. I'm using it myself after all! For example, a couple weeks ago I had to update the unofficial client to make sure Mozilla wouldn't remove the addon from AMO (addons.mozilla.org). But that's pretty much all I'm finding the time to commit to right now, I'm afraid. Let's keep the issue open though in case me or somebody else can do it later. Anyway, I suggest you follow the discussion about multiple highlight colors in the official Hypothesis channels too. See here, for example.

Hi Diego, Thank you for your quick response. I fully understand the crunch of time you must be facing. Thanks for supplying us--the users--necessary updates to keep the add-on working well for us. Thanks for keeping the issue open in the mean time. I wish I was a programmer and I could have contributed to the add-on in some way. Hopefully, some else will pitch in. I will follow the discussion on Hypothesis's forum and add my input there!
