Dragging and dropping highlights from the PDF viewer into other apps/text editors work unpredictably. sometimes it causes a crash (though in the instance of this report I wasn't able to crash it, even though i repeated the same sequence of actions that crashed it moments before i turned on debug logging.)
In the log for this report, drag-and-drop worked as expected (as far as I could tell as a user) - it produced citations with markdown-formatted zotero:// links when dragged into a plain text editor, and generic citations when dragged into a rich text editor. I tried out a couple different Quick Copy item formats, and they all worked this way – that is to say, if one style failed to produce text during a drag-and-drop, changing the item format to a different style did not resolve the issue. Likewise if one item format successfully produces annotations, changing to a different style also produces annotations successfully.
I don't know what I did differently between launches. After certain launches, drag-and-drop works correctly yet after other launches it fails to function, despite the fact that I am generally doing the same kinds of actions on both occasions. I haven't changed my settings between launches - aside from enabling debug logging.
EDIT: it seems that another plugin - Cita - may be the cause of this issue. After relaunching with the zotero-cita add-on enabled, drag-and-drop consistently failed to generate text. I saved a local log of this (+ submitted it for good measure - id D273158125).
