DCC uses output from the STAR read mapper to systematically detect back-splice junctions in next-generation sequencing data. DCC applies a series of filters and integrates data across replicate sets to arrive at a precise list of circRNA candidates.

the "circRNA read counts" in output file #54

Closed circR closed 6 years ago

Hi Sir

Does the "circRNA read counts" in the output file represent the "back-splicing junction reads" or the total reads that mapped to the predicted circRNA region? If it's the latter, is there a way to get the junction reads only? Thank you very much.

Dear @circR,

thank you for your feedback.

The circRNA read counts refer to the back splicing read counts.

More details about the detection process can also be found in the paper and the supplementary material.

Cheers, Tobias
