Guide pipe #96

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

Please provide a description of the requested feature:
A guide pipe that is similar to a diamond pipe except that it still lets items
flow freely through it in every direction(except if you tick the box next to
the color then that pipe is blocked) but if you place say a dirt in the green
color that every dirt that comes from every direction(even the one where its
supposed to go to) will go into that direction and every other block will just
freely flow on and act like the guide pipe is just a other normal transport
pipe.

What pipe would this effect? (New for new)
New

Please provide any additional information below.
It would help make crossings easier on huge pipe networks where space is a
luxury you just don't have, As right now so far as i can figure out there is no
way to easily make such a network where 1 pipe line can carry heaps of
different items and deliver and take items in a proper way without the use of
chests and engines and advanced wooden pipes(which slows down the progress big
time especially when you have about 200-300 items flowing over any given pipe
at a time)

Please provide any screenshots you feel would help demonstrate this
feature.

If you have 1 color empty in a diamond pipe, then anything that doesn't fit in
the other colors will go to the empty color.

Ya but see Shalasha the point of the guide pipe would be that say you have a
long pipe going from left to right with heaps of items going both ways(and with
mods this can become quite a bit)

Now if you where to add a other pipe into it that say sends 4 new items into it
and they have to go to the left then with a diamond pipe it would screw up the
rest of the items unless you add a chest(or 10 if there are heaps of items
going over it like i tend to have after a while) and a few engines to sort the
items out but that slows things down big time.

So with the guide pipe you can have a T crossing or any other and have the rest
of the items just flow through like normal and only those that are put in the
filter will be affected and will chance course so in that way you can direct
items from a to b without having to lay down heaps of pipes as then you can
just have 1 main pipe line and connect all your machines all your storage
area's and everything up to that central pipe system.

It would also look better instead of trying to make a crossing that is a 6x6x6
maze of stone and cobblestone and iron and diamond pipes just to get say 2-3
items to go to the right only and not to the left while every other item is
unaffected.

As I have not been able to keep up during my busy weeks, I am closing all
tickets. If your problem still persists in the version I am posting today,
please create a new ticket and sorry for the inconvenience, and I will attempt
to fix all known bugs this week.
