Cut off text boxes on Mac #105

Open ladd-d opened 9 months ago

Hello!

Text boxes on the Mac version are too small to view values within. This is only cosmetic, but slows work significantly as I need to copy/paste the value or scroll through digit by digit to check the value of the box. image

Some of them are adequately sized:

I'm running the latest version of pdfgui. Both computers we've seen this problem on run Monterey 12.6 but do have different chipsets Intel Iris Pro and Apple M1 Max.

Thank you! Dylan Ladd

Hi @ladd-d , thanks for reporting the issue. Sorry about the inconvenience. We found "different Mac OS version + different wxpython version" combinations may give different behaviors on the GUI as in your screenshot. We are looking for a more generalized solution to fix the UI problem in Mac.

I was curious if there was a solution to this issue yet. Thanks!!

Cheers, Brian

Temporarily, you may use wxpython 4.1.1 py39h7ff66df_1 conda-forge in a Python 3.9.16 conda environment, which works for Apple Silicon.

seems to work now with wxpython 4.2.1

Thanks @tjalb .
Hi @sbillinge , have we released the pdfgui (and pdffit2) conda-forge version supporting python3.11 and wxpython 4.2.1? If so, we can close this issue.

I don't believe that these are released yet.
