It's unfortunate that in this day and age we don't actually have a IIgs emulator that does everything that would be expected by an emulator on macOS, or is even still being maintained. That's not just specifically gsplus.
I experienced the same problem. The only solution I could work out was to create new .po/hdv images and copy the content of my .2mg hard drives into them.
Thanks bbellina. Appreciate the reply and advice. After doing that, gsplus still wouldn't open the drive (UNABLE TO LOAD PRODOS on boot) with the main image and other test images I had. Also the control panel won't open, even with the documented key presses. I've rebuilt gsplus several times, and run it on several other macOS versions going back to 10.8 in emulation. Appreciate the reply, but I've now given up.
I have GSplus v0.14 running on 10.15.5 on an APFS formatted drive. I am using a ROM 01 rom and the drives are po/hdv formatted (not 2mg) and in slot s7d1 and s7d2.
I did not build GSplus from source, just downloaded the dmg from the GSplus site: https://apple2.gs/plus/
You can download my images from the IIGS section of my blog at bbellina.blogspot.com. Click on the link on the right side to all Silverwand Software downloads, and then on that page click on the link to "All Apple IIGS software". The drives are in a zip called generic-gs-601-drives-2020.zip.
I suggest you see if you can get it working with my drives. If you cannot then there is something else different about your system. Maybe the ROM you are using isn't good.
Also the key to get to the GSplus configuration is F4. Depending on your macOS keyboard preference settings you may have to type Fn+F4 to get to F4. I forget to do that sometimes. If you get it working with my drives then I think you have no choice but to convert from 2mg to po/hdv to resolve the issue. GSplus doesn't seem to work well with 2mg and the author is MIA. I'd hoped that my Wineskin of CiderPress would help with converting your images, but it doesn't seem to work on Catalina, so you will have to convert them some other way. You could do it with GSplus by cloning my images and then booting off of them while your images are also set up to be mounted. Then just use GS Finder to copy your files onto my images.
Good luck.
Just checking whether gsplus currently supports each of these (macOS 10.15 + APFS + 2IMG), specifically for hard disks in slot 7. I'm just getting unable to load prodos messages for any disk I use. I don't want to convert the disks (my main archives) if that's not the problem, so I'm thinking maybe APFS or macOS 10.15 is the culprit?
Has anyone got gsplus working under these conditions?
