We have an office Space for the Initiative. David (@damg70) will have a desk there, but if there are other uses we can think of let's discuss them here. THe office will be available in April and is in Sakamaki 215.
@damg70 Let's take the tour on Monday if you can. If you can make it right at 9, that would be good. Shirley is coming at 9:30. I'll ask Sue to let us in before SHirley gets there. I think we need a walk through to try and figure out furniture. Sue can probably help us out to an extent. Actually the furnishing is quite posh. There is a big cherry desk and a built in computer workstation in the corner. FOrmerly occupied by a professor with very good taste. I was half considering moving over there myself.
SOlomon will come over along with the desk chair and the small table. I am pretty sure there will be bookshelves and filing cabinets. I need to go through my filing cabinets and can probably part with at least one if necessary. We can keep the shelves and filing stuff pretty minimal though, as that takes up a lot of dead space. Room for you to do grad studies books though. We can work on getting some workstations in there. We can have a whole roomful of rehabbed handmedowns running linux (kidding, I think). I think we should get Kara and Brian in on this. Waiting to hear from them on their github invites. We should be able to get some kind of whiteboard...we got a budget ya know. I was efriends with a guy who had some kind of arduino "the doctor is in/on his way messaging system outside his office...What do you mean by state? I am guessing whether the server is up or down.
can do it monday at 9, yes.
that’s good news that we can get the basic accoutrements of an academic cave in effect.
by “state” i meant the overall state of the project… some means of “putting our issues out there” as it were, in an interesting data viz way. just another chunk of blue sky.

@damg70 would you please price out a dry erase board, markers, eraser, cleaner too. I have a router picked out. Do we need anything else? I think I have a long enough network cable I can donate.
I have a ton of dry erase markers I can donate (just the yucky colors are left). Please let us know after the tour about the size of the library space and number of computers available. It would be great to have space for workshops on learning new tools...Has DIGIAH expressed interest in that previously? (KCC Kara)
Things we would like to think about in a studio space
ALL: audio and video Macintosh Mac OS X 10.6 or greater Intel Processor, i7 recommended 1.0 GHz Processor, 2.0 Ghz recommended 2.0 GB RAM minimum, 4.0 GB recommended Quicktime 7.6.6 or greater Windows Windows 7 / Vista / XP Intel Processor, i7 recommended 1.0 GHz Processor, 2.0 Ghz recommended 2.0 GB RAM minimum, 4.0 GB recommended Quicktime 7.6.6 or greater

We got it covered, non-yucky colors even. THanks.
We will have a small multiuse space at Sakamaki 213, and the possibility of another space in the library. We need to discuss a doable digiA&H studio. What do we need. If it costs, how to fund it?
