dots in page paths are transformed into dashes #98

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. take page
2. set page path to something involving a dot (foo.html, say)
3. see dot be transformed into dash

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Obviously that the dot be kept as-is. This is very useful when converting from
other systems that suffixed URLs with .html, for instance. I don't myself see a
technical reason for not allowing a dot in a url path.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.4-dev, Sol10.

It was added to protect IE users. IE often trusts the extension more than the
supplied mime type.
When this has been corrected in IE7+ then we can remove the $. removal.

Protect them from what? With user uploads or something like that I understand
but when part of the actual website this should not be necessary.
