Isn't that how other player do it?
Huh - I haven't used another desktop music application in a long time, so I don't actually know. The only other music library program I use is a mobile app that doesn't do this.
I personally prefer it that way, but if this behavior is the standard, I'd understand not wanting to change it.
I'll make sure to check it out on other players. If it's not a popular method, I have no problem in changing it.
This is a popular feature on many other players, where shuffling a playlist essentially creates a temporary playlist with the songs shuffled. However, with those other players you can manually reshuffle by clicking shuffle on the original playlist or turning shuffle off and on again, but in Dopamine clicking shuffle again will simply restart the temporary playlist. It would also be nice to be able to see and edit this temporary playlist, like with many other players.
If I have shuffle on, listen through a playlist (or album, etc.), and then restart it, the order that the songs are played in will be the same as the first playthrough. Restarting Dopamine seems to be the only way to get a new shuffle.
