Hey there i love your work and im using Dopamine for some time now and i love it.

But over the time i really got used to the way Dopamine sorted albums by year, it was more condenst. Now every year has its own "row" (english isnt my native language, im trying my best, sorry).

is there any chance you could give us back the old way of sorting by year?

i really appreciate what you are doing!!

Sven

That was one of the reasons why i changed back to 2.x, and the fact that i cannot change the thumbnails size.

digimezzo commented 2 years ago

@Muspellheimer I can add an option to switch to both type of album sorting. @nikkopt Don't give up too quick, or check back later. Dopamine 3 is still in preview. Features of Dopamine 2 are gradually added (and tumbnail sizes will be one of them).

@digimezzo i will keep checking. There is only one thing i don't like about version 2.x and it's the time it takes for the album covers to appear. It takes time and the animation isn't fluid. This only happens when i put my computer in energy saving mode which caps the cpu speed to 2.4Ghz. If i use the balanced or performance mode and let the cpu reach it's maximum 4.4GHz, it's way faster and fluid. I play most of my games at 2.4Ghz and they rarely drop below 60fps so i never understood why something much simpler was so slow. I don't even have that many albums One thing i liked about 3.0 is that the thumbnails load instantaneously, even scrolling down very fast. I was actually expecting the performance to be worse due to the language change. I was impressed. It's like microsoft groove in that aspect.

an option to switch between settings would be cool. most of the bands i lsten to do not put out multiple albums a year so i have to scroll 15minutes to get to the album from 1980 thats why im asking!!

i love your work!!
