You're right, sorry. I'll have to rebase it off of master though as the first couple of commits should be in master already.

@georg-da @lucianojoublanc-da This PR is ready for review. Unfortunately, there is a bit of work that is on the main repo with respect to updating it from old dependencies.

If I understand correctly (pls confirm) this consists of a Java App that converts XML into Daml structures which are then written to the ledger, right? So we have a faithful 1:1 representation on-ledger of the ingressed messages?

Exactly. I'll submit two PR's instead of this one and get feedback about committing the XSD.
