Same problem for me, with Google Nexus S, Android 4.0.4, Open GPS Tracker
1.3.2-osmupdate.

Track recording is stopped whenever the app goes in background or the phone
goes stand-by.

I tried to enable start tracking on phone boot and start tracking on app start,
but the problem is still there: no points are recorded when the app is not in
foreground.

Please let me know if I can help in debug.

Thanks

If it is worth reporting: I tried the app with a custom tracking set: 5 min
time interval and 10 m distance.

Looks like this has been happening to me to. I was not sure, because it
happened when I was riding through some areas without phone reception while
also streaming, but the symptoms sound the same. Samsung Galaxy Nexus i9250
Android 4.0.4.

Happens to me too on my Galaxy S3. As soon as main activity looses focus (open
sub menu, turn off display,...) GPS signal is lost
