Instagram is taking down 3rd party systems #1369

Hey guys,

This week I received a threating email from instagram lawyers saying they will persecut legal actions if i dont do whatever they ask me in the e-mail.

I've 3 applications available on google play [one of them for over 3 years] that interect with instagram private api... Those apps werent built using this repo api, nor any other in github, I mainly studied mgmp repo and created my own version in Java during its peak i got over 200k active users per month and over 700k downloads of the apps

none of my apps intent to help users to get more followers, nor they can be used to spam on instagram... but they do allow users to interect with instagram a way the official app dont

recently some users started reporting they got accounts locked and needed to go through a very annoying validation process to recover, some of them telling that were unable to recover no matter what they do...

Then a few days ago i received an e-mail [sent to several of my email addresses ] from someone claiming to be instagram lawyer and requiring imediate actions.

anyway, as i said this ISNT THIS REPO PROBLEM... i just want to alert the community since probably instagram will persecut other big projects that interact with its api...

This hurts man! I heard Tik Tok is sending the same emails.

Do you have any thoughts on what action flow might caused your users being banned ?

thanks for the report! Can you reupload the document they sent you? When opening https://easyupload.io/oc5ohy i get a "file not found". Thanks!
