settings changed randomly by RAS #481

Settings were changed, not only in RAS but also in FF itself.

First time it happened, I thought maybe something went wrong during installation of RAS. I returned the settings to the way they were, in RAS and in FF options.

But now it has happened again so I am sure it is not me. Various settings changed on their own. This time I have not yet found any FF settings changed, but RAS settings definitely changed. I am the only one using this machine.

For example, I had it set to use Random Windows Profiles, and it changed to Random Profiles.
I had enabled DNT, and that was now turned off.
Referrer trimming policy I had set to Scheme, host + port, and that was changed to send full URL.
Screen size spoofing I had set to Random, and it was set back to Default.
I had unchecked Enable location tracking using... and it was checked again.
etc.

This has not happened to me prior to the installation of RAS, days ago.

FF 48.0.2, W7-64, RAS 0.9.5.6

I also have a PC running XP32 which did not have this problem. I initially thought it might have something to do with the OS. Looking more closely I found a difference in that the W7-64's browser also had the add-on Menu Wizard, and the XP32's browser did not have this add-on.
So of course I removed the add-on from the W7-64's browser, and the problem stopped.

So it appears that there is a conflict between RAS and Menu Wizard by Oleksandr.
(Menu Wizard is used to customize the menus, or in my case, to re-assign keyboard shortcuts)

Perhaps you can work together to track down and fix the problem.

I noticed this occurring for me as well. Has happened half a dozen times or so in the last month or so (since last update in Sept 2016?).

When it occurs on my FF it appears that all of the settings in Headers and Options are reset back to default settings! I'm having to double-check my settings weekly just to reassure FF security posture, @dillbyrne

Hope to provide more info in the coming days/weeks. RAS v0.9.5.6 Firefox v49.0.2

Did either of you disable RAS using firefox's built in addon disable button ? That would reset all the settings. See the bottom part of the page at https://github.com/dillbyrne/random-agent-spoofer/wiki/Context-Menu-Usage

If you have not disabled the addon using firefox's built in button then can you reproduced the issue without other addons.

What other addons have you got installed ?

I'm not experiencing this personally using ff49 and 0.9.5.6

@dillbyrne I only disable RAS via its context menu and never disable the add-on through FF's extension manager. Seems to occur inconsistently, unsure if other add-ons may be affecting RAS.
