Fix several regression tests #2850

Many regression tests broke after the removal of cl, because they assumed cl is implicitly loaded. Others regression tests broke for other reasons.

The commit fixes not all regression tests. This is meant to be the first wave.

By accident I created the branch on top of another branch of mine. Fixed that by rebasing to master.
