How is this related to the SPKG in SageMath? #2

I meant to move this to the SageMath namespace on gitlab.com. However, when comparing this to the SPKG in SageMath (with all the patches applied) I get a diff of 25k lines. So, how's this related to the SPKG that we have in SageMath?
