Just installed the last version of ffmpeg give me this Error when i try to exec 
ffmpeg:

ffmpeg: error while loading shared libraries: libx264.so.142: cannot open 
shared object file: No such file or directory

This is not a libvpx issue, you should post it to x264 project -- 
http://www.videolan.org/developers/x264.html
