To anyone reading this more than 5 years after I first published it:

I still like the visual style of the poster, but now I think it's way too text-heavy. There is modern antithesis to this called #betterposter which I like. I think the less words you use on your poster, the better - let your pictures tell the story.

I would probably use Powerpoint or Keynote to make a poster today, but Inkscape is still a fine tool for that.
