Repository visibility #144

Thinking ahead to some point in the (near?) future when we make this repository public, do you prefer to

just make the current repo public
keep this one private and push to a public repo that would have the same commit history but separate issues and pull request history
figure out how to make a separate public repo whose commit history consists only of public releases

With the merging of #153, I think we might be ready to flip the switch and make the repository public. Any objections? @darcey @kennethsible

I renamed the repository to the shorter name fggs and made it public. I also added protection rules on the main branch (which is only enabled for public repositories) so pushing to main requires a pull request that passes the tests.
