Have any other users reported this?

jessicabrodsky commented 11 years ago

Yeah, there have been a couple people reporting facebook issues.

"After updating to safari 7 and mavericks, disconnect seems to run amok and block like crazy. Even though I whitelist a site like Fackebook Disconnect keeps blocking media and keeps counting up. Then when I reload the page everything seems fine." Reported via Facebook

Another issue with Facebook on Safari 7 w/Mavericks:

"what could be the reason for Disconnect extension for Safari blocking the profile picture of one of my Facebook friends? It is always the same picture that gets blocked, although I can’t see any relevant difference (e.g. in URL, size etc.) to other profile pictures."

Another report of this problem:

"I just have a complaint about Disconnect. It is not loading websites correctly on Safari 7, and a lot of times pictures don’t load especially on Facebook or freezes up the page, and I know that by disabling Disconnect and then every thing works fine, and when I enable it the browser feels sluggish and idk just not a good experience."

Another report of this issue:

"I have been using Disconnect in Safari, Firefox and Chrome for month.

I'm primarily a Safari user when it comes to Facebook and Twitter and I've noticed that very often the images will not load on the first attempt. Sometimes the page itself will not even load fully.

When I hit refresh its usually fine."

I can post a screencast of whatever you need. Just let me know. Maybe you want my web inspector open on the network pane?

Snow Leopard 10.6.8 Safari Version 5.1.10 (6534.59.10) Firefox works fine.

I have a similar problem with Youtube and Safari. disconnect-1 disconnect-1a disconnect-2 disconnect-2a

Disconnect seems to work intermittently. With Disconnect enabled, homepage images don't load, upload/setting button doesn't work.

Clicking a link loads the corresponding page correctly, By clicking the home page link everything loads correctly. However saving a change in settings doesn't work.

Using a direct link only loads main video - no comments or thumbnails.

White listing has no effect.

When Disconnect is disabled Youtube works fine.

A related issue, reported by user:

"I’ve been using Disconnect for quite some time. I’ve noticed recently that images (legitimate images posted by people to their Facebook pages, including images I post) are blocked. When this occurs, the counter on Disconnect goes crazy. It will clock up many hundreds of blocked “Content” requests for Facebook.

The picture below shows an example. I am viewing a friends page on Facebook. image This is not something I was experiencing previously with Disconnect. It seems like a bug. It doesn’t always happen. When it does happen, images will be missing from the page. Today I uploaded an image to FB and even in the preview pane it was not showing up. Latter I would only see a place-holding space for the image, until I clicked something on the Disconnect content counter.

Here’s another image showing the issue as it looks… This time the counter on the button also shows a high number on it. These clocked up in a matter of seconds, which trying to add a picture to a status update I was posting on FB. image
