Causing problems with Firefox 25 #203

Closed jessicabrodsky closed 10 years ago

jessicabrodsky commented 11 years ago

"Please note that Disconnect 3.8.1, the addon for private browsing is no more compatible with Firefox 25. Using it gives me the message "Firefox is already running but not responding, please close the process or restart your computer". After quiting Firefox the process Firefox is still running in the task manager and need to be killed to execute Firefox again (on Windows 7) without the error message.

After disabling Disconnect, Firefox can quits normally without staying in active process. Enabling Disconnect causes the error again and Firefox need to be killed in task manager. "

Can you ask this user to go to Tools > Web Developer > Browser Console then select all (command-A), copy (command-C), and paste (command-V) the output into an email.

jessicabrodsky commented 10 years ago

[Browser console output. Redacted in case there was some personal usage info. Anyway, no Disconnect errors.]

Another person has reported this issue:

"The Disconnect 2 drop down menu/toolbar appears mostly blacked out in firefox 25.0.1. Previously appeared fine. disconnect Not sure but it looks as if there was a conflict with Adblock Plus which I also use. However, up till now, Disconnect and Adblock have worked without issues"

Could you see if we can get the output of the console on startup (there should be a JavaScript error message that tells us what's going wrong):

Open Firefox > Tools > Web Developer > Browser Console > Right-/control-click > Select All > Right-/control-click > Copy > Paste into an email

Duh, I missed the console output above. That output is too late, though. We need the output right after the browser starts up.
