Export window doesn't open anymore after installing HAP Codec Encoder #56

Hello everybody,

i've installed the HAP encoder for Adobe CC. I've used Adobe Pro 2022 in the meantime it is 2023 because i wanted to deinstall Premiere since the export window isn't opening anymore after installing the Encoder. I'm working on a MAC.

I assume that it has to do with the installation of the enoder - never experienced such a problem before. How can i uninstall the encoder to get me export window back again? I must now send everything to After Effects that i can export things.

Tried everything to open the export window. File -> Export / CMD+E / The button in the left upper corner. The export dialoge doesn't show anymore.

Please help.

Best, flo

The encoder is installed to

/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/

Delete the Hap encoder from there.

After installing this, I tried exporting a video and got a certain error. Thought it was odd, but I'd try again. And for the past two hours I've been trying without success to open the Export dialog again. I've reinstalled Premiere multiple times, Restarted computer, Removed HAP from the location you specified, uninstalled from windows, ran adobe cleaner tool to fully remove Premiere and Media Encoder, but still by Export dialog won't show up anymore. Already tried everything I could think of, I would really appreciate your help in getting it working again. I need to export HAP videos.

Hi, I'm really sorry but I can't really help much in getting this working at the moment, and haven't been using or developing these plugins for years now. The state of where things are placed and handled by Premiere and AME aren't really known too well to me any more.

I don't want to state the obvious, but something has been left behind or put in a spot that is causing the export dialog to fail to come up. This could be things the plugin installed - although it does try to remove these if uninstalled IIRC.

Things related to the plugin were mentioned by Tom above, and in addition to those there are 'encoder presets' installed - on Windows I believe these go to ProgramFiles\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore\HAP\

Hap Alpha-Only.epr
Hap Alpha.epr
Hap Q Alpha.epr
Hap Q.epr
Hap.epr

You could try deleting these files if present.

Finally, AME / Premiere themselves probably have a queue of jobs, and maybe there's something in there that is causing issues; I don't know where this would be.

Hope this helps.

I really appreciate your response. Your plugin is amazing and I think I was just unlucky on my first try. I kept trying all sorts of things, and I honestly don't know what really solved it for me, but after trying everything I could find on the web the last thing I did which finally allowed me to export media again was to restore the Workspace to default, and use the Export Tab, instead of trying to go over the menu. Thanks again, and all the best!
