Red Light District

The Red Light District is an adult content marketplace developed as a collaboration between district0x and SpankChain.

Purpose

To develop the most popular adult content marketplace where performers can upload their content and sell it to their fans. Today adult performers are starting to use social platforms like ManyVids (NSFW) to sell their content online. ManyVids takes a 20% cut and is known for censoring content from performers that don't fit with the taste of the company. We believe an inclusive, community owned and operated alternative with significantly lower fees could gain significant market share.

SpankChain

SpankChain is an economic platform built on the Ethereum blockchain that serves the $100B adult entertainment industry. By using our digital currency wallet and integrating with our payment channel hub, our platform businesses can provide an instant, secure, low-cost payment option to their adult sites. To drive the initial adoption of our platform, we are building our own adult live camsite and decentralized content marketplace. In the long-term, we plan to develop a robust set of interoperable services beyond just payments that will drive down the cost of operating adult entertainment businesses and make entrepreneurship within the adult industry more accessible.

To fund our development and accelerate our growth, we are launching the SPANK ERC-20 token on the Ethereum network. SpankChain is following the Gnosis access token model and SPANK will act as a dynamic license to use SpankChain infrastructure and services. On October 24th, we plan to issue SPANK through a custom single-round, blind, dutch, state channels auction to prospective platform businesses, users, and supporters.

Our team is currently 7 devs, 1 designer/bizdev, and 1 porn star.

district0x + SpankChain = ❤️

The Red Light District is proposed to be a collaboration between district0x and SpankChain. The district0x platform brings advanced community governance tools through its partnership with Aragon and key marketplace infrastructure through the d0xINFRA framework. SpankChain brings instant, low-cost, payments through its payment channel hub and integrated Vynos wallet and serves as a bridge to the adult industry.

Content Marketplace

The Red Light District will have the following core features:

Performers will be able to upload and price their content (pics, videos, gifs)
The uploaded content will be displayed on the performer's profile page
The marketplace will display listings of performers and their content
The marketplace will provide search/filtering/ranking tools for performers and their content
Users will be able to purchase content they wish to experience by sending an Ethereum transaction
Users will also be able to purchase content with payment channels using the Vynos wallet and the SpankChain hub

Token Voting

The Red Light District will be jointly operated by both the district0x and SpankChain token holders. The voting contract will accept staking in both DNT and SPANK on equal footing (there are 1B of each).

The key issues we anticipate voters in the community deciding are:

the fee % on content sales (if any)
the development roadmap
content quality controls
content ranking algorithms

Revenue Distribution

Should the DNT and SPANK holders collectively decide to institute fees in the Red Light District, we propose that these fees be divided equally between the communities. For our part, SpankChain aspires to do 10x better than the status quo and would target a 2% fee.
