3Drinter: Marketplace for 3D-printing related files, components, materials, printers and services.

Purpose:

Since 3D-printers are becoming more and more mainstream, yet sometimes still to expensive for each individual, a decentralized marketplace for such services could end up being used more and more in the future due to the rising demand and lowering cost of such a printer and services. I propose a marketplace where anyone can offer and ask any 3D-printing related stuff and services for a price in ETH or DNT. Curation can be done like on other decentralized marketplaces; based on reputation, curation by a moderator (perhaps having the option to lock a fee for a possible moderator to be needed)...

Description:

Some possible assets and or services to offer and ask:

3D-files (This could be combined with ipfs to have uniquely hashed files to perhaps prove ownership of a file, but I think that's beyond the scope in which I'm seeing this district)
3D-printers, components and materials: where people can buy new and/or second hand 3D printers, components or materials (such as PLA/ABS/...), get advice from other people, guides for different printers, settings sharing for best outcomes, ...
3D-printing services: where people can ask for and offer 3D-printing services for a certain fee. Based on what the person offering the services would like: per article/per cm³,... Here you could also let people post their 3D-files to be printed and let the '3D-printers' choose themselves which articles or figures their machine could print best.
Fun sideproject would be to fund a district0x 3D printer to make it's own district0x gadgets and sell them on the marketplace to benefit whatever pleases the community best.
As mentioned just above: a whole different part of the marketplace could be just sharing of all bits of information, how-to's, guides regarding whatever aspect relating to 3D-printing. Where ordinary printers are mainly plug-and-play, 3D-printers tend not to be so easy, hence an informative section to lure people already interested in 3D-printing

Though I'm sure the 3D-printing market isn't known all too well yet, by combining above features, one could easily buy a 3D figure by buying a file, send it to someone who prints and sends it by mail to the user for an upfront fee. No knowledge of 3D programs needed whatsoever, except perhaps a small 'starting-guide' where the whole life process of such a 3D figure is explained so that every user knows what's needed for such a figure to be made.

Oh... I tried searching (using the search box for something like this but it seems it doesn't work too well) Here's my VERY similar proposal, though maybe somewhat more fleshed out in some parts: https://github.com/district0x/district-proposals/issues/217

Though I feel my proposal is more focused on a consumer standpoint rather than that of a 3D-printer owner, perhaps these two districts can tie together in having a supply of materials

I'm not sure if you're aware but we recently launched a new bounty to migrate your proposals to the actual District Registry: https://registry.district0x.io/

We're replacing the old voting app with the registry. Let me know if you need help but I would love to see you migrate this over so you can claim your DNT.

It does take a 10,000 DNT submit to submit your proposal but this gives you an extra 2000 you can stake in the registry beyond the deposit amount.
