6 years ago Hey, this is interesting for sure! However, I am seeing the token as unneeded friction. Is there a reason you are leaning towards a token? Can it be reworked to use ETH or are you are still developing that aspect?

6 years ago It could be reworked to use ETH but I would worry about spam, people might be more motivated to just send tons of flights that might not be "that" good for 1$ worth of ether just to hoard it. While with something that you receive and could re-use in the ecosystem itself.
By using a native token it would also be easier to "airdrop/giveaway" a number of token to help populate the community at first without too much additional cost otherwise we could easily face the chicken and egg problem of 2 sided marketplace.
It is also worth nothing that it would be harder to implement various rank for our users if we only use ETH, ex : someone holding 50 tokens could access the deals x minutes before someone who isn't involved with the community.
I am still quite open about discussing the various issue of going Ether or with a native token, obviously as a frontend developer myself with limited knowledge of all the technicality of programming Smart Contract/Blockchain I am in no way an expert!

Finding the best flights should be easy and available freely.
Description:
There is currently a problem with finding affordable flight tickets, you have to do a tremendous amount of research across a varieties of websites ( Google Flights, Momondo, Kayak, etc. ) to make sure you are getting the best flight.
That's it? No, researching the normal way isn't just the only way and it is quite easy to miss the best deals which often are up for only a few hours or days. The only way right now to get those deals is to be part of a specialized newsletter or pay a monthly fee or premium to have access, we are talking deals over 50% to 75%. One of thoses websites actually even advertise roundtrips of 900$ being discounted to 260$...
How does Fly0x resolve this situation? Quite simply by rewarding anyone who shares with their fellow travellers discounted routes.
Let's get into the details and all the benefits such a community could actually achieve.
Token real world use cases :
A traveller could request to the community for a certain amount of token to find him the most affordable flight to Europe from his local city or area.
Hold a certain amount of token lets you receive flights before every other community member. ( 30 minutes ? 1 hour ? Time constraint might need more thinking )
Tip a fellow member of the community / Receive a reward for sharing their deals.
A startup could request by elaborating a set list of requirements (budget, dates, etc) for diverses team members spread across cities, the cheapest flights for each team member AND to find accomodations for the whole team. Off setting the burden of the logistic for management so they can focus back on work while the community find not only the most affordable option but the best one. ( someone said decentralized travel agents ? )
A travel tour company, airliners, hotels could sponsor some targeted promotions to experienced travellers ( as a way to monetize the district )
Informations could stay hidden until a payment is done with the tokens ( submitted by @pappi discord )
Future Markets:
Obviously Fly0x is mainly focused on flights but ultimately the platform could be used as a way to find the most cost effective way to travel by adding train, bus and who knows 🚀 !
Another really interesting way of seeing it which is radically different could be that Fly0x become a fully fledged and decentralized travel agency to assist anybody looking to explore the world !
