MarketCap0x - We need a transparent CMC

Purpose:

Transparent and Fair listing for every crypto projects.

Description:

CoinMarketCap is a fraud but I am sure everyone here is consulting it quite often it is a reference in the crytospace, hear about a new token ? Your first reflex is probably going to search it on CMC... So you can know which exchange trade the token, the valuation and more precious informations about it. Being on the website is a big deal for a lot of token/projects because it is one way to get discovered by a lot of crypto-savvy users.

Here are the main issues :

• Long process to get listed if you even get a reply
• Hurt smaller projects ( tokens and exchanges )
• Fake volumes reported directly on the main page (The district could use data or a rating from the BTI )
• Filled with scammy ads
• Barely any efforts to have a more decent UI (feel really outdated at this point)
• Lack features ( see changes on 24h, 7 days, 1 months, ATH data, community stats.. )
• Some competitors of CMC charge 1-10 ETH for a listing
• Etc.

I think the best way would be to do a TCR, a new project could stake a small amount of tokens or Dai think 50$ so they can be added/reviewed to the list. The community can challenge at any point during the 7 days the project if they think it is fraudulent or a bad actor.

There could be various levels or labels the token could apply to think : a project just kickstarting could be applying for a discovery label with lower entry criterias but another one which is already established since a few years could apply for a higher rank (names to be determine by the community perhaps!)

Possibly adding in the process of vetting the project categories : is it a PoS coin ? Privacy oriented ? Masternode ? So later while researching we could easily filter on the UI projects think : Show me all the smart contracts platform available at the moment... I want all the projects with a max supply of 1M tokens etc.

To make sure the list or TCR isn't filled with dead projects perhaps the team should re-apply or stake additional tokens every year which could trigger the process again.

The API's / Graphs / Datas / dev. could be handled by a system similar to D0x tasks so everyone could contribute to the platform in an open and transparent way. Perhaps have a team leading the efforts but ideally I'd like the current District0x providers/teams helping out to kickstart the project.

Everyone in this community deserve a fair, open and transparent way to consult this vital data.

This is seriously in dire need. I really like the idea of using a TCR for this. It's a good example of how a good TCR would bring value to people even if they don't actually participate in the curation.
