Name:

Blog0x

Purpose:

To offer an open marketplace for blog creation and sale with reputation standards among consumers and creators

Description:

Guilded Writing: Permissionless publishing is a must (corollary: infant phase could be an invitation only phase to curate reputation and create a standard); however, we will have to make incentive adjustments to account for two obvious variables: Spam and Quality. There will be a constant and competitive accountability on the creators to not only prevent spam but also to disincentivize diminishing quality. The higher Authority/Reputation role calls for more scrutiny, not less, as their words carry more weight. (Fact checking and “anachronous(outdated) informational deterrent” incentives can be implemented as well) These reputation incentives will involve curation as well as staking concepts. Possible community roles could possibly define certain players as fact checkers, maintenance workers, curators and creators, specialists (people with specific field expertise) and generalists to all cooperate through bounty incentives.

Yelp and rotten tomatoes style consumer roles to pre-screen, upvote and downvote information, and they in return get rewarded in reputation tokens so there is a reputation accountability on both sides (consumer and producer)

Creator Friendly: Community tokens make great examples of driving incentives towards open collaboration and putting the creators first. In the spirit of flat and open crypto networks, there is absolutely no intention of The Garden taking any direct profits from creator content simply because we don’t want to give them an easy reason to create somewhere else. Indirect profits, such as assisting the growth of their base as a service, or fact checking, would clearly be a different story because we would be contributing to the value of their user network effects.

Cross Promotional: Contingent on deployment of district, there will be a loop between the Garden of Crypto blog Host, and the District0x blog marketplace Host. In a most general sense, features and functions will be used to enhance both supply and demand side, of both operations. Choosing which functions to help grow creation and consumption can be initially developed on the enterprise level (Garden and District leaders) and pushed down to the user level to take advantage of the governance efficiency of free market district forking. Tangent: In a more specific scope, for example, The Garden can remain rigid as a corporation under the governance of its owners, possibly featuring great consumer level experience, while the industrious district marketplace can focus on the efficiency of competitive quality content creation among sectors like creators, fact checkers, and MLA/ ELA finalizers etc. The Garden can showcase workshop results of the supply side district can offer.

Supply Side/ Demand Side: Both supply and demand of The Garden is relatively weak as it currently stands. We could pull out advertisements to synthetically boost demand, but not all readers are equal. Incentive loops such as bounties between readers and writers are more efficient than traditional methods. Crypto has allowed everyone to reimagine how to grow network effects. Meme coins and community tokens in the space have demonstrated virtually unlimited proofs of concepts on how to grow. Bounties, fundraisers, airdrops, competitions, and other demand side boosters are easy to deploy and will be utilized aggressively as an initial campaign launch for ramping up the supply creation.

Training wheels: Since we can’t assume that all the roles in this compartmentalized structure will immediately fill, or that it would be a simple process, they may start off as slightly bottlenecked and spread too thin. Basic roles like writing and publishing will be easy to fill, but we will need a slow rollout of other features such as the fact checking department once a monetary incentive (demand) is there to draw in role fillers. We can however do particular campaigns to exemplify the benefits of departments by synthesizing the process from the end of the Garden, by having team members assume certain roles and periodically demonstrate the process. Considering this training wheel phase, a partnership with District0x team would accelerate the process as they have an established reputation and demand within crypto, while The Garden’s is more lackluster, but no lesser in standards such as openness and free speech. This alignment of incentives are clear. We too want robust and open market standards, and believe this makes general cross promotion, such as cross posting, and merging communities will be in both our interest, especially considering the underlying crypto-economic architecture that we are enthused about integrating between our platform and theirs.

Hey there! Just a reminder. We just launched the District Registry.

If you are still working on this project, be sure to submit it to the registry if you want to see it built as one of the next districts.

We will be deprecating the old voting app and Github proposal system now that the registry is live.

If you aren't working on this be sure to stake your DNT into the districts you want to see remain in the Registry. https://registry.district0x.io/

Your staked tokens act as an 'Upvote' within the registry. Similar to any TCR, you will also receive a portion of the challenge rewards if anyone ever challenges the district. So be sure to migrate any tokens you used in the old voting app.

I will be streaming today now that the registry looks stable and people are beginning to stake DNT. We will dive in, answer all your questions and help get you started. Hope to see you later today!

Hey @wglynn115

I'm not sure if you're aware but we recently launched a new bounty to migrate your proposals to the actual District Registry: https://registry.district0x.io/

We're replacing the old voting app with the registry. Let me know if you need help but I would love to see you migrate this over so you can claim your DNT.

It does take a 10,000 DNT submit to submit your proposal but this gives you an extra 2000 you can stake in the registry beyond the deposit amount.

Hit me up on Telegram or Discord if you need help or have questions.

PS, please excuse the canned response. I am encouraging everyone here to start migrating so they can claim their 12000 DNT.
