7 years ago Sounds like a very solid project. However i'm wondering if "no fees" will actually mean cheaper tickets or more money for the event planners ? Cheers

7 years ago Thanks for your comments! We believe that "no fees" will mean more money for the event planners while providing better guarantees with smart-contracts and cheaper price. This is a win-win use-case.

7 years ago Yea this is a good idea deleting the middle man saving money and making transactions like refunds easier. A few months ago I bought a ticket for a club DJ, didn't get accepted in the club because they said i was too drunk (i had 1 beer lol) and couldn't get a refund from digitik. I sent emails i called there was always something wrong so i finally gave up. Those e-ticket sellers are just shitty and unadapted to the present time.

I'm not sure if you're aware but we recently launched a new bounty to migrate your proposals to the actual District Registry: https://registry.district0x.io/
We're replacing the old voting app with the registry. Let me know if you need help but I would love to see you migrate this over so you can claim your DNT.
It does take a 10,000 DNT submit to submit your proposal but this gives you an extra 2000 you can stake in the registry beyond the deposit amount.

Purpose
In 2017, Ticketmaster, Digitick and others are playing an important role in events organisation by providing centralized e-ticketing platform with fees.
Through the Hiwave District, event planners will be able to issue e-tickets instantly without paying any fees. But that’s not all, thanks to smart-contracts, Hiwave District will be a trusted e-ticketing platform for event participants, that allows a partial or full refund if they didn’t attend the event or if it was cancelled.
Description
We believe that centralized e-ticketing platforms are not effective enough, with huge fees, a long and complicated process to issue e-tickets and a lack of guarantees for consumers in case of unexpected circumstances.
Hiwave District is a decentralized e-ticketing platform that provides more guarantees without charging fees. It will allow event planners to list events and issue e-tickets instantly for each event. In order to create a trusted platform, event planners will be able to issue e-tickets with guarantees facilitated by smart contracts :
Event planners scam, cancellation, organizational issue, impediment, discrimination in access to events, refund procedure... The smart-contracts input will resolve all of those issues by creating trusted transactions and agreements between event planners and participants, without the need for a central authority.
Stakeholders
Hiwave District is made of 2 different stakeholders groups:
Event planners - Event planners will be able to issue e-tickets instantly and without paying any fees. The success of event planners will rely on building positive reputation through awesome events and good guarantees of refund thanks to smart-contracts. Event planners won’t pay any fees and won’t administer the payment in case of refund, which involves running their business in a more timely and cost effective fashion.
Event participants - Events participants will be able to buy cheaper e-tickets with more guarantees. Thanks to Hiwave District, they could attend events and enjoy a good time with confidence and then recommend the event planner to the community. They are the heart of the district, aiming to create a trusted platform.
Utilization of district0x features:
Posting & listing: events and e-tickets by event planners.
Search & filtering: events and e-tickets by event participants.
Ranking & reputation: participants will be able to review an event.
Payment & invoicing: funds are sent to a smart-contract. The contract releases funds to the event planners depending on parameters : (number of e-tickets scanned/number of e-tickets sold) >= x%, refund level per e-tickets non-scanned.
Monetization
Hiwave District will generate traffic meaning visibility for event planners. But if an event planner want to stand out, he could purchase sponsored posts to achieve higher e-tickets sales. This monetization solution aims to avoid incurring fees for every transactions in the district. We will take no cut. The amount the participant pays is the amount the event planner gets.

Create an account.
Create an event. Anyone can create an unlimited number of events and issue an unlimited number of e-tickets, using the functionality “Create an event” on the website. a) Give a title, a description, location and date, and upload a picture. b) Choose a tariff for each type of e-tickets you want to issue. c) Configure refund parameters a, b and c. i) (Number of e-tickets scanned / Number of e-tickets sold)>a% ii) b% refund in case of non-scanned e-ticket. iii) c e-tickets have to be sold to make the event happen.

Mobile app
A mobile app, linked with the Hiwave District, will be developed for event planners to scan QR code on e-tickets.
