BKM->BK2 conversion is slow and memory hogging

A good test file is the one attached to issue 249.  It consumes a lot of time 
converting individual lines, and then (depending on houdini) may crash with an 
out of memory exception.

I'm going to call revision 7612 enough to consider this done, the example movie 
at least does not crash.  Conversion could still be more memory efficient and 
faster, but I dont' consider this a necessary feature.  There should be a 
limited number of .bkm files in existence in need of converting, the vast 
majority of which are reasonably long.  The conversion need not be fast, since 
it s a one time thing anyway. It just needs to not fail.
