Photivo crashes on opening file #104

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open file (either drag-and-drop, or "Open Raw")
2. File starts to load, stops and program crashes

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Usual Windows crash report: "photivo.exe has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Details shows this:
"AppName: photivo.exe
 AppVer: 0.0.0.0
 ModName: libfftw3-3.dll
 ModVer: 0.0.0.0
 Offset: 000cd074"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest version: photivo-setup-2012-12-12-win32
Win XP Pro Service Pack 3

Please provide any additional information below.
Crashing only happens with this version - a previous version I installed
photivo-setup-2012-05-21-EXPERIMENTAL-win32 works fine. Reinstalling the
previous version over the 'new' version works - reinstalling the 'new' version
again doesn't.
I have completely cleared all settings and completely uninstalled programs, to
no avail. Using the latest troubleshooter doesn't do anything - Photivo
crashes, the reporting console just 'hangs' - does not do anything.

I can’t reproduce the crash here.

Does it happen with all images, raws and bitmaps?

When you start Photivo without an image, reset to neutral preset, then load an
image, does it still crash? If not does it crash when you now enable one of the
Wiener sharpeners?

The libfftw3-3.dll in your Photivo program folder should be 1,330,190 bytes in
size. Is that true? Do you have any other libfftw3-3.dlls on your system?

What pipe size do you use? Set it to 1:4 for testing to avoid running into the
32bit memory limit problem.

1. File sizes inside the photivo directory as mentioned above are correct.
2. Photivo loaded without crash.
3. Gave a Neutral reset.
4. Loaded image, no crash.
5. Tried different sharpen tools, no crash.
6. Enabled Wiener Sharpen, photivo crashed while processing.

For trial, I copied the libfftw3-3.dll (1,311,744 bytes) from the version
released on 2012-10-06 and pasted into the installation directory of
2012-12-12. Now it is not crashing even with the wiener filter enabled.
