Deleting originals of old file when opening new one #56

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Steps:
1. Open raw file in Photivo
2. Perform edits in Photivo and save to jpeg
3. Leave Photivo open
4. Open next file in photivo (just using the command line)
5. Photivo asks whether to save changes to original file, I say no. (If I say
yes, it just has me save it as jpeg again)

Regardless of whether I say yes or no in step 5, this results in the original
raw file being deleted from disk. Expected behaviour is for it not to be
deleted.

It seems fine if I close Photivo after saving to Jpeg and then let a new
instance open up.

I've had it do this with a jpeg as the original too.

I'm using Photivo 2011-10-13 on Ubuntu 11.10. I believe this to be a recent
problem as that has been my workflow for quite some time without any problems.

Thanks
Helen

Hi,

I can’t reproduce your problem with the release version from a few days agoS
some questions:

Step 1: How exactly do you open the first raw file?
Step 4: What was the command line you used?
At any point was there import/export to/from Gimp involved? They only time
Photivo should delete files is when the --load-and-delete command line switch
is present.

Hi,
I can confirm this on rev cdffd43d4f8e. I noticed this when editing files from
digikam, so I made test from terminal.

I ran
"photivo firstphoto.nef"
did nothing with it (no edits) and ran
"photivo secondphoto.nef"
The dialog wheter I want to save file poped up, I chose 'Close without saving'
and the firstphoto.nef is gone from the disk.. I'm running Arch i686 just to be
precise.
I will try to build newer version to see if it still is a problem.

I built the most recent version and photivo now after 'Close without saving'
now displays a dialog whether I want to delete the original.
